Tooth Extraction Surgery in Sacramento, CA
The best way to prepare for your tooth extraction surgery is to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly leading up to the procedure. We also recommend engaging in relaxing routines or rituals as the surgery date approaches. On the day of your tooth extraction, you will arrive at one of our surgical sites and be welcomed into the operating suite. Depending on the complexity of your tooth extraction, you can expect either local or general anesthesia.
Once you are anesthetized or are comfortably numb, Dr. Clark will, if necessary, make a small incision in the gum to expose the tooth for removal. After Dr. Clark has access, he will loosen the tooth in the socket and pull it out. Once the tooth is removed, he will clean the area and provide any necessary sutures.
A complex tooth extraction can take up to an hour, depending on the specifics of your surgical plan, including whether the tooth is impacted, damaged, has not erupted, can be removed intact, and how many teeth need to be extracted. Before you show up for your surgical appointment, Dr. Clark will ensure you fully understand what you should expect.
